Wage Range Disclosure Mandate Coming to Employers in Connecticut on October 1 (Robinson + Cole)

Beginning October 1, 2021, Connecticut employers will be required to disclose wage ranges for vacant positions upon offer of employment, request, and/or promotion, pursuant to an amendment of existing laws concerning salary history and equal pay, titled “An Act Concerning the Disclosure of Salary Range for a Vacant Position.” Connecticut joins other states, including California, Colorado, Maryland, and Washington, and other localities which already have imposed similar disclosure obligations on employers. In addition, the Act amends Connecticut’s equal pay law by expanding employers’ obligations to provide employees with equal pay for comparable work. Many employers are carefully considering how best to proceed in Connecticut and across states and locations that have similar laws. Join us for a brief webinar explaining the new legal obligations for employers and how wage disclosures could impact the employer-employee relationship and any pay equity compliance efforts.
