Speaking from various viewpoints as cybersecur ity professionals, Pat Colantonio, our Cybersecurity Committee Chair will m oderate an interactive panel discussion that first talks to you about what they believe you HAVE to know today and then answering your live and presub mitted questions (email them to us at Admin@nmconsortium.com).
This conversation will be helpful for all professionals working within Def ense Industrial Base. Whether you are working with machines producing parts , computers creating drawings, or behind a desk reading contracts and setti ng your company's vision, we want to hear your questions and talk with you. Patrick Colantonio is the Director of Sales and one of the founding members of NeQter Labs. With the introductio n of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification in 2019, Patrick has co ordinated his team to align their company and product with the new standard s to best support their clients in the Defense Industrial Base. Outside of work, Patrick is a big believer in STEM programs, participating in several mentoring programs and cybersecurity-focused events for youth.
Joe Kurlanski, President, CISSP®, HCISPP®, CMMC PA & RP. In the more than 25-year career in IT and inform ation security, he has worked closely with hospitals, banks, credit unions, Department of Defense contractors, and businesses of all sizes to create s ustainable risk management and information security programs. He founded Mo narch Information Security Consulting in 2014 expressly to meet the unique needs of businesses grappling with today’s big laws, regulations and requir ements for cyber security.
Linn Freedman practices in data privacy and cybersecurity law and complex litigation. She chairs Robin son + Cole’s Data Privacy + Cybersecurity Team. Linn focuses her practice o n compliance with state and federal data privacy and security laws and regu lations, as well as emergency data breach response, mitigation and litigati on. She also counsels clients on state and federal investigations and enfor cement actions. She has a particular focus on health information technology and has assisted clients with navigating laws governing the access, use an d disclosure of protected health information and substance use disorder inf ormation and HIPAA compliance.
Linn is an Adjunct Professor at Roger Williams University School of Law teaching Privacy Law. In addition, she ha s been nationally ranked in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Bus iness in the area of Privacy Law since 2012, was named in Becker Health’s W omen to Watch in Health IT in 2020, is listed in Best Lawyers in America an d Super Lawyers, has been recognized by the National Law Review as a Go-To Thought Leader and Lexology as a Legal Influencer, won LexBlog’s First Read er’s Choice award in Cybersecurity every year from 2015-2022, was named He alth Data Management’s Top 50 Healthcare IT Professionals in the US, and is frequently interviewed and quoted in numerous publications including the W all Street Journal and National Public Radio.
Kristin Carl son is President of Peerless Precision, Inc., in Westfield, MA; a small pre cision machine shop specializing in the manufacture of small, complex mecha nical components mainly for the Aerospace and Defense Industries. Kristin i s past President (2016-2020) of the Western MA Chapter of the National Tool ing and Machining Association (WMNTMA) and currently serves as Trustee, is Chair of NTMA’s AMPED (Advanced Manufacturing Practices and Education Devel opment) Board, Board Member of NMC, Chair of the State of Massachusetts Wor kforce Training Fund’s Advisory Board and sits on Advisory/Steering Committ ees for Westfield Technical Academy’s Manufacturing Program, West Springfie ld High School’s Pathways to Prosperity Program and Agawam High School’s Ma nufacturing Program.
Kristin has been with Peerless Precision, Inc. s ince 1997, and has held a variety of positions with the company since then. She assumed the role of President from her late father in 2012. Kristin ha s extensive experience in purchasing, sales, supply chain management and op erations management. She is extremely passionate when it comes to changing the outdated narrative that encompasses Manufacturing, bringing more women in to Manufacturing and educating students on the many career paths and opp ortunities that are available in Advanced Manufacturing.
With close to two decades of experience in IT and over 10 years i n cybersecurity, Dave Bykowski is an authority on cybersecurity and NIST 80 0-171 and 800-53 compliance. A former civil servant and federal contractor, Dave is currently Manager of Information Security and Compliance for Kelse r Corporation, a managed services provider supporting small and medium size d businesses in Connecticut. Handling both technical and managerial respons ibilities, Dave helps companies to identify their levels of risk and determ ine appropriate solutions and implementations to their security challenges.
