Digital Thread for Naval and Maritime

Participants will be introduced to model based definition and how this digital product design format can help to resolve common issues with traditional manufacturing workflows, such as revision mismatches between models and drawings, measuring distortion during fabrication, assembly work instructions, and pricing and quoting.

Other topics include automated CNC and CMM programming, digital twin for controlling manufacturing variability as well as 3D printed fixture design all leveraging model based definition.

We will tour through our Advanced Design Automation and Metrology (ADAM) lab as well as our Additive Technologies Optimization and Machining (ATOM) lab to demonstrate some of the latest technologies available that can be used to streamline your production processes and discuss how you can leverage our labs to validate technologies.

CCAT's Advanced Technology Center (ATC) is located at the Raytheon Technologies Research Center which is adjacent to The Pratt & Whitney Campus at 409 Silver Lane, East Hartford, CT. CCAT is an export control facility. All visitors at CCAT’s Advanced Technology Center will be required to sign in and present proof of citizenship. Acceptable forms for identification include a verified license/ID, passport, green card, or birth certificate. Visitors who are citizens of an embargoed country and do not have a valid US Green Card will not be permitted in the facility.
