Tour Your Advanced Technology Center (CCAT)

CCAT’s Advanced Technology Center will also be hosting an in-person tour of their state-of-the-art laboratories where people can see and experience the newest Additive Manufacturing, Advanced Design, Automation and Metrology technologies in use. You will also hear from ATC’s experts, as they walk you through the extensive capabilities and applications of innovative technologies in manufacturing.

⦁ In Additive Manufacturing (3D Printing), technologies for building both plastic and metal parts will be showcased including metal Directed Energy Deposition (Optomec LENS 850R, DMG MORI LASERTEC 65 3D hybrid, and the HRAM Flex cell), metal Powder Bed Fusion (Renishaw AM400) metal Binder Jetting (ExOne Innovent+) , and a number of entry level and industrial grade plastic (polymer) printers including the Ingersoll Tool Masterprint robotic cell.

⦁ In precision machining, 5-axis milling and turning machining will be presented on the Mazak Variaxis 630-5X-II-T. Wire EDM machining will be demonstrated on the Sodick SL400G wire EDM with linear motor drive.

⦁ In automation and metrology, technologies that will be showcased include: Collaborative and Industrial Robotics (Mitsubishi MELFA Assista, ABB IRB 140, Kuka KR60), Structured Light Scanning (M3DI Variscan and GOM ATOS Scanbox 5108), X-Ray and CT Scanning (NSI X5000), Thermographic Inspection (Thermal Wave Imaging ThermoScope 3), Coordinate Measuring Machine (Renishaw Agility), and Comparative Gauging (Renishaw Equator).

This experience is designed to provide incumbent workers, educators and college students with a general understanding of technologies in additive manufacturing, precision machining, automation and metrology, and composites.
