Tour Your Advanced Technology Centers

CCAT’s Advanced Technology Center will also be hosting an in-person tour of their state-of-the-art laboratories where people can see and experience the newest Additive Manufacturing, Advanced Design, Automation and Metrology technologies in use. You will also hear from ATC’s experts, as they walk you through the extensive capabilities and applications of innovative technologies in manufacturing.

In additive manufacturing, both powder bed fusion and directed energy deposition technologies will be showcased including the Optomec LENS 850R, Renishaw AM400, DMG MORI LASERTEC 65 3D hybrid, HRAM Flex cell, ExOne Innovent+, and Ingersoll Masterprint Tool.

In precision machining, 5-axis milling and turning machining will be presented on the Mazak Variaxis 630-5X-II-T. Wire EDM machining will be demonstrated on the Sodick SL400G wire EDM with linear motor drive.

In automation and metrology, the NSI X5000 CT scanner, GOM 5108 Scanbox, and M3DI Variscan 3D Scanner will be shown.

This experience is designed to provide incumbent workers, educators and college students with a general understanding of technologies in additive manufacturing, precision machining, automation and metrology, and composites.

Advanced Technology Center (ATC) is located at the Raytheon Technologies Research Center which is adjacent to The Pratt & Whitney Campus at 409 Silver Lane, East Hartford, CT. CCAT is an export control facility and all visitors at CCAT’s Advanced Technology Center will be required to sign in and present proof of citizenship. Acceptable forms for identification include a verified license/ID, passport, green card, or birth certificate. Visitors who are citizens of an embargoed country and do not have a valid US Green Card will not be permitted in the facility. CCAT follows all current CDC, State of Connecticut and Town of East Hartford, CT COVID protocols and masks are required.
